What I Stand For

Students come first. Education policy should be focused on proven solutions, not political distractions. I'm committed to creating safe, supportive, and academically strong schools where every child in D49 can find success.
Key
Issues
01
Select evidence-based educational policy and curricula
Policy and curriculum decisions should be based on the best available data. It will be my goal to seek out solutions that produce the best student outcomes, wherever they may come from. We will find efficiency in replicating what we already know works, rather than starting from scratch.
03
Produce well-rounded students to support their success in life
District 49 should prepare students not just for tests, but for life. Aligned with D49's Cultural Compass, my interest is in launching successful students. I believe we accomplish this goal by equipping them with practical skills through diverse opportunities and multiple pathways to success after they leave us.
05
Maintain fiscal responsibility
With my strong technical and analytical background, I will work to balance budget priorities while retaining talented educators and stafaf. I will bring a detail-oriented, data-driven mindset to the school board's financial decisions.
07
Focus on local issues, not national politics
National political issues are important, but take attention away from the important work of local governence. Worse, they often polarize a community that can otherwise agree on the issues directly facing our students. My job will not be to litigate political issues, it'll be to help our students learn. In a time of state and federal instability, I will work to create a calm, solutions-oriented environment focusing on the decisions truly impacting student success.
02
Build safe and effective learning environments
It is my belief that children learn best when their basic needs are met. I trust the expert educators in D49 to integrate social-emotional learning plans to limit distractions that can act as a barrier to achiveing academic excellence. We serve our students best when they can focus on learning.
04
Support military family transitions
D49 serves a high population of miliary families. Transitions in or out of our schools can be difficult and decisions made by school board members should not make them harder. I intend to remove barriers and increase supports for military-connected students and families.
06
Establish a competitive employment environment
Even within today's financially constrained environment, D49 has a unique opportunity to attract and retain top-tier educators. I am committed to advocating for fair compensation, supporting existing stafee, and leading the tough conversations needed to make D49 a destination for the best teaching talent.
08
Promote parental rights
I strongly support parental rights and believe families should have a clear, active role in their children's education. I will advocate for greater transparency and low-cost technology tools to help families engage with curriculum content.
